A shot I took last year at my house… it’s a long story…maybe I’ll tell it one day…
Every Monday I’ll post a round up of interesting school lunch news, weird food news, and information about childhood obesity. I’ll share no more than three links and I’ll leave (most of) the commentary to you.
- From California, new research has show that school lunches missing the mark for nutrition standards. Big investigation, huge discrepancies.
- A new study looks at the connection between childhood obesity and poor math performance. They’re related, which I don’t think should be a surprise. I believe children struggling with obesity are missing nutrients in their diets similar to malnourished kids.
- Last week Mark Bittman wrote that twenty-four hours after his abandonment of all dairy products, the heartburn he had struggled with since adolescence disappeared. Wow. (I’ve remained gluten and dairy free since the end of the school lunch project. Still feel great, too.)
Happy Monday!
Love the last article. I avoid milk, cream, yogurt, cottage cheese and the like, but still eat some “real” cheese and butter. I feel so much better. No bloat, belly issues, heartburn, nothing. I encourage my family to do the same.
