Mrs Q’s News: Calorie comparison, palm scanning machines, and the spork!

Pictured: Cabbages at the farmer’s market…

You know how you get to that stage in your pregnancy when you don’t want to do anything? That’s right now. I pretty much can’t muster the energy to do what I need to be doing. I’m not a slacker, but I’m barely getting by. I have seven weeks to go. I’ve done this whole pregnancy thing before so I know that it’s easier when babies are “in” than when they are “out,” but still. I don’t want to move.

1) ABC news breaks down a typical fast food lunch in calories and compares it to the contents of school lunch.

2) What price is worth getting through the lunch line more quickly? Palm scanner to pay for school lunch concern some parents.

3) History of the spork!

Hope you are having a good week!

  1. Palm scanners… yet another reason to homeschool. If the children don’t have enough time to eat lunch, then perhaps they ought to increase the lunch period, instead of spending $300,000 in order to increase efficiency. Ridiculous.

  2. I have a 2-month old and honestly feel more like moving now than I did during the last weeks of pregnancy! I even felt more like moving and getting things done shortly after his birth than I did before… I can say that recovery the second time was a lot faster ;). Of course the difference between a 39 hour labor and a 6-7 hour labor could have contributed!
Good luck with the last few weeks of your pregnancy!

    1. Thanks so much!! I still have 7 weeks, but it’s refreshing to hear that you feel better physically. I just can’t handle this hard-as-a-rock bump anymore!

  3. The Palm scanner is fantastic innovative idea. Those “afraid” of it, really do you think a print will really be stored and used against your child? Really?

We only allow so many hours for students to be in school, so lets make the most of it, and if palm scanners help, lets use them.
